The Museum will host Dr. Susan Mockus, Dr. Sara Patterson, Dr. Cara Statz, and Dr. Taofei Yinof The Jackson Laboratory for their presentation: The Quest for A Cure: The Role of Sequencing in Cancer Treatment. The presentation will take place in the Planetarium. Open discussion and social hour will follow.
 
Tickets for the event are on advanced sale for $8 online, or $5 for College students and Museum members. Tickets will be $10 on the day of the event. Limited seating is available.
 
Next-generation sequencing of DNA enables the rapid screening of thousands of genes to identify mutations in a patient's tumor that may be targeted by drugs; a first step towards personalizing cancer treatment. This lecture will focus on the progress of precision medicine in oncology and the impact on patients and oncologists.
